IM403 Intermediate Playground Climbing Frame

The IM403 packs four progressive deck levels into a single multi-play playground climbing frame. Deck heights of 0.57m, 0.9m, 1.175m and 1.475m give children a clear route from gentle entry play up to higher-confidence climbing, spread across a 4.32m x 5.3m footprint suited to larger primary school playgrounds.

The IM403 stands out with two one-piece pressed stainless steel slides on opposite sides of the frame, plus a fireman's pole exit with a curved top for older or more confident climbers. Other routes include a cargo net climber, an inclined ladder, a vertical-bar climbing panel and a wooden plank bridge between deck sections.

Manufactured in-house at our Yorkshire facility, the IM403 is built from heavy-gauge powder-coated steel with fully welded components and tamper-resistant Torx security fixings, certified to BS EN1176 in your choice of powder-coat colour.

Multi-deck play refers to a playground climbing frame with two or more deck levels at different heights. This gives children a clear progression of challenge, supports motor skill development as they move between levels, and increases the number of children who can use the frame at any one time.
A one-piece pressed stainless steel slide offers several real advantages over plastic. There is no UV degradation, no colour fade and no surface cracking over time. With no joins on the sliding surface, the ride is smoother and there are no edges or fasteners to fail. In commercial outdoor use, a stainless steel slide pays back many times over in maintenance avoided.
A multi-play playground climbing frame combines several types of play into a single integrated structure. That typically includes climbing routes, raised decks, slides and feature elements like net climbers, monkey bars or fireman's poles. They are commonly used in commercial playgrounds at schools, nurseries and public parks, where they often act as the central focal point of the play space.
The IM403 features four progressive deck heights of 0.57m, 0.9m, 1.175m and 1.475m, a one-piece pressed stainless steel slide for the main descent, and a 3.25m fireman's pole exit from the upper deck. All components are heavy-gauge powder-coated steel with tamper-resistant Torx fixings.
With a free height of fall of 1.475m, the IM403 needs a critical-fall-rated impact surface across its full impact area. That works out at 63 one-metre-square rubber tiles or 51m² of wetpour, retained with 32.5 linear metres of concrete pin kerbs.
