Big play in a small footprint

A Compact Multi-Play System

The IM202 is one of the most space-efficient multi-play climbing frames in our Intermediate range, designed for primary school playgrounds and public play areas where you want a full climb-and-slide structure in a small footprint. Twin decks at 0.9m and 1.175m create a clear progression of challenge for primary-aged users.

Children access the frame via an inclined ladder, a grip horizontal-rung climbing wall and steel stepped access. Once up top, they explore two activity panels, including a decorative face panel and a circular-cutout panel, then descend the one-piece pressed stainless steel slide.

Manufactured in-house at our Yorkshire facility, the IM202 is a UK-made steel climbing frame built from heavy-gauge powder-coated tube with fully welded components and tamper-resistant Torx security fixings. Certified to BS EN1176, supplied in your choice of powder-coat colour as long-life commercial playground equipment for schools and public play areas.

Heavy-duty steel construction means a frame built from thicker-gauge steel tube with full welds at every joint, not bolted connections. Our climbing frames use 88.9mm Ø x 3mm uprights with welded dome caps and sleeved or fully welded crossmembers throughout, a significantly heavier specification than domestic garden climbing frames and built for years of high-traffic commercial use.
Yes. Every one of our climbing frames are finished with a powder-coated topcoat available in a choice of colours, so you can match it to your school colours, nursery branding or local park scheme. Colour customisation is included as standard, with no extra design fee.
A steel climbing frame offers a longer service life and lower maintenance burden than timber. Heavy-gauge powder-coated steel does not rot, warp or splinter, and stays dimensionally stable across UK weather cycles. Paired with tamper-resistant Torx fixings and a zinc-primed, powder-coated finish, a Lightmain steel climbing frame is built for many years of commercial use.
The IM202 itself measures 4.7m x 1.59m x 2.15m. You should allow a minimum installation footprint of 7.7m x 4.59m to accommodate the surrounding safety zone, plus access room for children to queue and enter the frame safely.
With a free height of fall of 1.175m, the IM202 needs a critical-fall-rated impact surface across its full impact area. That works out at 37 one-metre-square rubber tiles or 33.5m² of wetpour, retained with 26 linear metres of concrete pin kerbs.
