Community funding for MUGAs
Invest in Your Community’s Future
Looking to invest in MUGAs (multi-use games areas) or improve your local playground, but struggling with budget constraints? Why not enter your community project into the Aviva Community Fund?
Apply for the Aviva Community Fund
The Aviva Community Fund has become the Communities Fund and is now part of the Aviva Foundation. It offers an opportunity to help local causes across the UK. Instead of a single yearly opening, it is now open on a rolling basis; thus, it accepts entries at any time as long as the project benefits the wider community.
To ensure eligibility, there are two categories which your project should suit:
-
Financial well-being: helping people feel more secure and in control of their money. The support could include budgeting, debt advice, financial education, or money management.
-
Climate action: helping communities prevent and adapt to the impacts of climate change. This might include restoring nature, improving access to green spaces, or providing education and skills to ensure a sustainable future.
Creating a new playground, a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area), or refurbishing an existing sports space may not have a core mission directly aligned with these; however, projects that support community resilience and wellbeing may still be considered if you frame them around these funding priorities. In such cases, you can apply for project-specific funding, provided the project addresses one of the priority areas and connects to community work.
Application Process
The steps in the application process follow:
- Ensure your organisation is UK-based, with beneficiaries located in the UK, and has been operating for at least 12 months.
- Create a project page that outlines details of your initiative, objectives, and funding goals.
- Launch your campaign to receive donations.
- The Communities Fund will match every individual donation you receive up to £250, doubling £5 into £10 and £250 into £500 (subject to terms and conditions).
