Millhouses Park Sheffield Medium Duty MUGA with Basketball England
DUCHESS ROAD BASKETBALL COURT, SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL
Duchess Road is situated in Sheffield City Centre which has recently seen many new developments of flats and office buildings. Therefore, the local community have few opportunities to engage in sports and recreational activity. A pre-existing basketball court was used heavily by residents and in need of refurbishment.
Lightmain were delighted to be involved in the outdoor court renovation at Duchess Road on behalf of Sheffield City Council and in collaboration with Basketball England.
The site was designed by Lightmain, with input from Basketball England, creating a leading sports facility for users. The area offers a great area for local children to interact and socialise in an environment that promotes physical activity.
Improvements made by Lightmain included:
- reduced the height of the existing brick wall to make it flush with the court level
- removed and replaced the fencing with 4m high Lightmain Medium Duty Sports Fencing
- Refurbished existing gladiator basketball posts and fitted new backboards and rings
- Installed two additional gladiator posts complete with backboard and rings
- Tarmac reskim to the surface
- Fully painted court markings in black/red/white to the client’s design
