Lightmain are delighted to be involved in a range of improvements that are being carried out in Sheffield including a BMX track.

The developments at Colley Park include children’s play equipment, a BMX track and parkour free running area. Located within distance of several local areas, including Ecclesfield, Parsons Cross and Southey, the park is set to be a big hit with locals who have already shown support for the development of more activities for young people in the area.

Working as the main contractor, we are delighted to be ensuring the success of the improvements for Sheffield City Council with aims of providing high-class facilities and opportunities for local people and the chance to engage with physical activity and the outdoors.

Councillor Mary Lea, Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Leisure at Sheffield City Council, said: “The improvements to Colley Park will transform this green space into an adventure playground for people of all ages. Whether it’s scrambling on the play equipment, free running on the parkour course, razzing around the bike track or simply walking the dog, there will be plenty of opportunities to get active, have fun and enjoy being outdoors.”

“We know that quality green spaces have a direct positive impact on people’s mental and physical health and we are working hard to address inequalities across the city to make sure everyone has access to a park that provides leisure and activity, is well maintained and safe.”

Alongside the new facilities, Lightmain will also be working on some repairs to the existing ball court fencing, whilst adding additional new seating and litter bins, making improvements to the car park area and CCTV.

Works are expected to be completed by November 2019.
